Here is an outstanding Youtube clip of a Piper L4 Grasshopper sideslipping in for a landing. c Video of Two Piper L4 Grasshoppers taking off and flying in formation.
Steve Denis, a longtime automotive mechanic and auto shop teacher wrote that this particular Piper L4 is probably airworthy:
" Well the issuance was 1992 and the last action on it was late 2007 so it's "assumed" to be airworthy with a simple annual required. The AW cert has not been revoked AND, it still has the N-number which it is required (as I understand) to display unless the cert has been revoked. I'd think they'd have painted over the numbers for realism if there wasn't a legal issue involved. "
