The M16 Multiple Gun Carriage Halftrack is essentially the same as the M3 Halftrack except for the addition of the four 50 caliber Browning M2 machine guns in the powered turret. The M16 and M3 halftracks differ from the M2 in that the rear body overhangs the rear of the idler wheel and tracks by about 10". On the M2 the back of the body is in line with the rear of the idler wheel.
