This particular Stug III Assault Gun was recovered from the bottom of a bog in Russia south of St. Petersburg in 1994. It had broken through the ice covering the bog during a battle in January 1944. The Russian government exchanged it to the US Army in 1995. It is in surprisingly good condition for being buried in a bog for 50 years.
