The Stowe Bike path runs from downtown Stowe VT north about 6 miles an a gentle uphill grade. It's paved the entire route and criss crosses the river several times over wooden slat bridges. The landscape runs from open fields to deeper forest to riverside to cow pastures with mountain views (but not on this day). There are several parking areas along the trail but there has been a problem with car break-ins. I'd recommend parking in town as with people around you are less likely to have a problem.
