Schoodic Point is a part of Acadia National Park on a mainland peninsula just north of Mount Desert Island. You can take a ferry with your bike from Bar Harbor across the bay to the harbor there. We passed the Margaret Todd and a cruise ship on the way out of the harbor which was pretty neat. When you arrive at Schoodic Point there are a couple of places to get a sandwich (I went to the pizza place) then it's a couple more miles to the park loop. The loop runs for about 12 miles along the coastline of the peninsula and has some pretty nice views. I rode into town after I was done and the total came to 19 miles including riding from the motel. But its best feature is that it's pretty quiet. It gets just a fraction of the traffic that the main part of Acadia recieves. It's a nice change of pace from the park and Bar Harbor, especially when multiple cruise ships are disembarking.
