Y'know, is it me or does the arm just naturally drape over
a Series wing when standing next to the truck? It's kind of
a companionable gesture, especially as that nice flat wing
surface is also perfect for holding a bottle of beer or the
like while having a leisurely conversation.

Land-Rover Series vehicles (at least not the
polished-to-death ones) are just confortable to be around.
Most, already being adorned with the scuffs and scrapes of
a lifetime, seem to invite the passerby to stop and lean
for a while and enjoy the time passing. "Don't wory about
the odd handprint or oily smudge - I don't mind at all."

Like the battle hardened farmers that they were designed to
be, the sheer utility of the design offers itself to a
relaxed attitude toward the proprieties. So, next time you
pass one don't hesitate to give it a pat on the bonnet in
greeting...it will be happy you did.
