081 Camel Trophy Range Rover

This is the 1987 Camel Trophy Range Rover driven by Tom Collins and Dan Floyd in the 1987 Camel Trophy. Patrick Godart of the Camel Trophy French Owners Club prodded me to find out what happened to this particular Range Rover. Eventually I got a hold of Tom Collins who was kind enough to fill in the blanks:

Hi Bill,

    My old Camel Trophy Range Rover was donated to the World Wildlife Fund
by Land Rover North America.  They put it to work hauling heavy loads and
people in Ethiopia.  I read a letter from the man who was using it and he
said it was developing some body cracks after 2 years of hauling loads more
suited to a 2 ton truck.  That was in 1992.  I have not heard about that car
since.
