The sub I-14 alongside the 575ft Sub Tender Proteus. Notice the round hanger door ahead of the conning tower and the catapult launching ramp running to the forward end of the sub. Look closely at the front of the launching ramp and see the 2 crewmen to get a sense of the size of the sub. The sub is 373 feet long and and carried 2 aircraft in its hangar. If you look closely you can see I-400 between I-14 and the Proteus. These were the largest submarines in the world at the time.
