Reproduction of a tombstone of a Roman Legionary who died in the Rhine Valley around the time of Jesus Christ.
The inscription reads:

HERE IS BURIED LUCIUS NAEVIUS, SON OF
PUBLIUS, OF THE FAMILY OF STELLANTINA FROM
TURIN, PRIVATE IN THE XIV LEGION 'GEMINIA',
45 YEARS OLD, HAVING SERVED 23 YEARS.
