Number of Gun Mounts: Originally there were five 5 inch mounts (Originally I ID'd these guns as Turrets. Fortunately crewmen of the USS New Jersey set me straight that they are Gun Mounts. Anything over 5" is considered a Turret. 5" or less are mounts. Today there are four. One 5 inch mount was deleted in the 1950s to make room for a radar controlled gun director
