There are two entrances to the tunnel, and at the lowest point in the tunnel it T's off to the right from the main entrance to the heavy bunker blast doors. The reason for these two entrances to the blast tunnel is that if there was a near miss from a thermonuclear bomb, the blast would blow for the most part straight through the tunnel and out the other door, saving the entrance to the Diefenbunker. A bulldozer parked there would then be able to clear the debris (hopefully) to make a path back to the surface.
